Dear Parents,

Although we have just started 2016, the month of February is full of various important events.  We have parent/teacher conferences, an in-service day, and a national holiday.

Our opportunity to meet with parents/guardians is very important.  We look forward to spending time with each of you regarding your child.  If you do not attend a conference on Wednesday, February 10th   or Thursday, February 11th, please remember the channels of communication with your child’s teacher (email or voicemail).  Please continue checking student progress on Infinite Campus (IC).

Please note the following important dates and events during the month of February:

Wednesday, February 10th             Parent / Teacher Conferences:  5-8 p.m.  (School is in session)

Thursday, February 11th Parent/Teacher Conferences:      1-3:30 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m.

                                                            (School is NOT in session)

Friday, February 12th                       Teacher In-Service Day- No Students, No School

Monday, February 15th                   No School, President’s Day

Keep in mind Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is in the month of March.  The PARCC dates will be mid to late March.  The PARCC scores help determine placement in future classes during the middle and high school years, as well as a reference point in determining instructional needs and abilities.  It is extremely important that your child is in attendance and on time every day of PARCC testing.  Please talk with your child about the importance of PARCC.  Many research studies have indicated student success starts off with a healthy breakfast.   Please make sure your child has breakfast every morning of testing.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement with your child’s middle school experience!

Sincerely,

Susie Wickham

Principal
